It states that the first session is free, but it does not give you any information about the costs of more sessions.
When money matters, but your mental health is suffering more… people need to know the costs of these services without having to call in.
I wish the true fees were written in black and white so people can see really how much they will need to spend to get help with a potentially life threatening illness.

    • Hi Saretta, I certainly understand the frustration you are expressing over how difficult it can feel to access counselling services or information about counselling services. Removing those barriers to counselling is something we are continually working towards to the best of our abilities. Our walk-in counselling is always no-cost, and can be more than one session; however if one attends multiple sessions of walk-in counselling, there is no guarantee of seeing the same counsellor every time, and no guarantee of a particular time slot as it is first come first serve. In terms of the longer-term counselling with one counsellor on an ongoing basis, we charge on a sliding scale, which means that there is a range of possible fees and we can’t know what the appropriate fee for any given client will be until they’ve completed an intake. I certainly understand the frustration that can come from not having a single fee listed, but hope this helps clarify why we do things how we do. As well, I want to emphasize that if there is an immediate threat to someone’s life, don’t hesitate to contact 911 or Crisis Intervention Services.

Thank you for your message; if you have any further questions or comments please call us at (306) 244 – 0127.
