Talking Stick App

October 17, 2024

Mental health is a state of wellbeing that guides how we interact with the world, cope with challenges, view ourselves, and function in our daily lives (WHO, 2022). In recent years more adults, youth, and children have begun sharing their mental health journeys and have been seeking support for their struggles. When you are struggling with your mental health, it is hard to know where to turn or to know who you can speak to for support. In the age of technology, many people turn to their phone for resources. The Talking Stick App is an application and website available for Indigenous youth and adults to access anonymous peer support for their mental health and wellness (Talking Stick App, n.d.). The Talking Stick App allows individuals to discuss their challenges with mental health, grief, trauma, relationships, and more on a safe, anonymous platform.

The Talking Stick App was created by the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations, TryCycle Data Systems, and Indigenous Services Canada. Check out the brochure below for more information on the Talking Stick App and instructions on downloading the app.
