Children are constantly learning, developing, and growing. The older they get, the more complex their development becomes. At a certain point in our development, we start exploring our values and how they connect to the world around us. One of the more challenging values to comprehend is how we value ourselves. Self-esteem can be a tricky concept for children and adults; sometimes it’s hard to grasp how to support children through challenges associated with self-esteem. The Canadian Paediatric Society has created a video that explores the concept of self-esteem, how to help children build self-esteem, and how to talk to children about their feelings.
