Community Living Service Delivery (CLSD)

Community Living Service Delivery (CLSD) is a branch of the Ministry of Social Services. Branch staff work with people experiencing intellectual disabilities and help them access a variety of community-based services. CLSD staff work to ensure that the physical, emotional and social needs of people experiencing intellectual disabilities are met and that they are able to live as independently as possible within their own communities.

Elmwood Residence in Saskatoon provides long-term care for both physically and intellectually disabled persons. Elmwood Residences Inc. operates numerous small group homes, one respite home, a 50-bed lodge, and a Supported Independent Living Program in Saskatoon.

The objective of this program is to provide emergent, safe, and temporary respite services to ensure the personal safety of the children, individuals, and families from abuse, neglect, and/or personal crisis. Grandma’s Home provides a safe and secure home to our mothers/fathers of the supportive living homes as well as those clients who have moved out into the community who are at risk of being placed in care. Live-in Grandma provides emergency and temporary respite services to children at the CUMFI Supported Living Homes.

Hessdorfer House was designed to provide safe, supported housing for individuals with cognitive disabilities. The apartment building has five suites, with a “house parent” living in one of the suites to provide support and monitoring day or night. The presence of the house parent has been instrumental in children being allowed to live with their parents or other relatives.

Provides homemaker, nursing and companion services on a short-term (respite) or long-term basis. 24 hours a day.

Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for families of sick children up to the age of 18 who are receiving medical treatment in Saskatoon. The facilities are only available to families living outside of Saskatoon.
