Prenatal support programs promote optimal pregnancy outcomes and healthy lifestyle choices by providing education and various supports to pregnant individuals; including nutritional supports, housing resources, community support connection, and supports with substance use, mental health, and family violence (Mom and Kids
Health Saskatchewan, n.d.).
Prenatal Support Programs in Regina:
Healthiest Babies Possible Program offers information, education, advocacy, and support at the Four Directions Community Health Centre, Regina through:
- Nutritional supports such as milk, prenatal supplements food vouchers
- Breast Friends Support Group for new or expectant parents with information on breastfeeding
- Hands-On Cooking Circles as part of other programs for preparing healthy meals and snacks
- Moss bag /Quilting Classes with creating a moss bag or quilt. The group discusses traditional cultural practices and teachings about pregnancy and parenting.
- Prenatal Classes
- Women’s Speaking Circle to share, to listen and to be heard, and to celebrate program participation (Mom and Kids Health Saskatchewan, n.d.).

Babies Best Start Program is located at the Al Ritchie Heritage Community Health Centre, Regina. This community-based program offers prenatal and parenting information, education, advocacy, and support. The Babies Best Start Program provides prenatal classes, parenting classes, cooking classes, nutritional counselling, and a low-cost grocery store (Mom and Kids Health Saskatchewan, n.d.).

Healthy Mother Healthy Baby Program offers information, education, advocacy, and support to pregnant people in the Saskatoon area. Healthy Mother Healthy Baby works collaboratively with many other programs in the community and has an open referral policy with many clients referring themselves to the program (Mom and Kids Health Saskatchewan, n.d.).

Food for Thought Prenatal Support Program is in the West Winds Primary Health Centre, Saskatoon. This prenatal support program assists pregnant individuals and their children to achieve improved health and wellness. There is a focus on cooking low-cost nutritious food in a group setting. The group talks about pregnancy related topics after each cooking session (Mom and Kids Health Saskatchewan, n.d.).
