Bicycle Safety – July 2026

As the months grow warmer, children love spending time outside; especially since we only get a few months where we are able to do so in Saskatchewan. Cycling is a fun activity for children that promotes exercise and important developmental skills such as balance (Saskatchewan Prevention Institute, 2022). However, cycling without taking proper safety precautions can lead to traumatic brain injuries, collisions, and serious injuries (Saskatchewan Prevention Institute, 2022). As a parent or caregiver, it can be challenging to remember the wide variety of safety measures to keep children safe, but the Saskatchewan Prevention Institute has created a fact sheet to summarize the key precautions that promote child safety (2022).
