Loneliness and Connection – January 2026

Many people experience feelings of loneliness throughout their lifetime and for some building relationships and forming connections can be difficult. Some tips for coping with loneliness are avoiding comparing yourself to others, giving yourself time, finding ways to take advantage of the time you have alone, and working on your social connections by taking it slow, accepting that you won’t be everyone’s friend, and aiming for healthy relationships (CMHA, 2018). Remember if loneliness is leading to depression, and or anxiety and is greatly impacting your life reach out to a mental health professional (CMHA, 2018).
