New Board Members Needed!
Family Service Saskatoon is an accredited, non-profit corporation. Its team, including social workers and psychologists, provides access to affordable counselling and programs so that:
• families have the ability to solve problems without violence;
• families experiencing separation and divorce can transition through that change in a healthier way;
• people in parenting roles have the skills they need to foster healthy relationships;
• youth-at-risk make healthy life choices; and
• the community has access to culturally sensitive services
The board seeks to fill vacancies so that its members bring a diverse perspective to the needs of the Saskatoon community and possess a broad range of skills to provide organizational oversight. We are currently looking for board members with financial, governance, social work/psychology backgrounds as well as persons who can share perspectives from the educational, emergency services/police fields, and immigration/refugee community. Other candidates will also be considered.
Board members are expected to attend monthly board meetings from September through to May, participate in one committee and to attend the Annual General Meeting in June. A board member can expect to spend 3 – 5 hours per month during the months of September through June on board or committee activities.
Nominations to the board of directors are presented by a slate of nominees at the Annual General Meeting in June of each year.
